Ho Hey

The Lumineers! I’ve been a fan for a few years and am happy to say that I am an even bigger fan now, after having seen them in concert. Here they are, covering the Talking Heads song “This Must Be The Place” and here’s a nice song, Dead Sea.

Oh, but maybe you stopped by to hear Ho Hey?

Wind Energy

First of all – this trip wasn’t supposed to have been a road trip. The original plan, however, was thwarted by the impending arrival of Hurricane Harvey (no relation), so instead of a more complicated trip that included flights in and out of Austin, we opted to skip Austin entirely and drive to Colorado.*

Second – we were in my Patient Spouse’s vehicle, and he was driving.

Third – I get really fidgety when I’m in the car for long periods. (In my case, “long periods” is anything more than about an hour.)

Fourth – this is what fidgety looks like.

Fifth – aren’t you glad you don’t have to travel with me?!

*Yes, Austin isn’t typically on the route that normal people take from Lubbock to Colorado. We had events in both places on concurrent days. Also, we’ve never really been accused of being “normal.”

Cash Transaction

This? Oh, I meant for the shot to not include either one of those arms. But there they are anyway.

Typical road trip conversation*:

Me: Look over there, at that old church/house/cemetery/etc.!

Patient Spouse: What? Where?

Me: OK. You have to make a u-turn.

Patient Spouse:

And that’s how I got this shot.

Titans of Industry

This long arc of train cars – no engine at either end – sits on a siding, waiting for…something.
