the best building in town (twice)

It’s a shame that whatever this place used to be isn’t that thing any more. It really is a nice building and it was thoughtful for the puddle to step in and provide an opportunity for reflection. I just had to stand a little bit in the roadway to get the right angle on the photograph…

feels like desperation

I could feel the owner’s increasing desperation as I read the signs painted on the windows at this abandoned place.

But I am also entertained by the phone numbers, which seem truncated so that only the locals will be able to call. I’m not in real estate or anything but it sort of seems like if you’re really wanting to unload your property and there are only 580 people in your whole town, maybe putting a complete phone number would be advantageous.

the town with no perspective

This place (apparently) has lost all perspective.

I’ll wait here until you notice why.

farm

I am led to believe that “normal” people would just drive right by this place and not even stop.

I’m glad I do not qualify as “normal.”

(But to be fair, normal people make a three hour trip in, you know, three hours. If you know what I mean.)

If you need a sofa

Maybe, after all these stay-at-home months, you’ve gotten weary of your place. And maybe you’re thinking a change in furnishings might be just what you need to lift your spirits. And maybe you’re thinking specifically of acquiring a different sofa.

If this sounds like you, please get in touch:  I know where you can find one.
