Car Park
My go-to camera is a Leica Monochrom; I’ve had it for four years and have made about 22,000 images with it so far. But as much as I love using it, there are still a few times when an image just needs to be in color. For example, any time I spot a pink plastic car parked beside a dirt road is a time that requires a color image. My go-to for color? Well, usually it’s my iPhone….

Two Cemetery Cisterns
These two crumbly concrete cisterns were the most fascinating part of this little country cemetery – I’d say one third of the photos I made here featured them. Obviously, since I was shooting late in the afternoon, I need to get back over there early in the morning, and when there’s a storm, and maybe even on a cold, clear night to get some stars. I guess my quest for a new obsession has ended….good thing it’s only a 30 minute drive from home.

Hospitalization
This hospital closed for good in 2001. According to this article, at the time it closed, the hospital was the second-largest employer in town, with about 120 employees. The town itself had, at the time, about 2,200 residents, so the loss of that many jobs must have damaged the town’s economy in ways that are still being felt nearly twenty years later.
And, all these years later, there is still some stuff lying around. At this point, I guess it’s safe to assume it’ll just be here forever.
