I lost my head

The goal of a recent road trip was stopping at all the little towns we’d never been to before. And so that’s how I found myself at an abandoned Stuckey’s out by the interstate. And that’s also how I ended up getting lined up so that the hole in the glass was approximately where my head was. Sometimes the tiniest things can yield great amusement. At least in my world….

Sky Hook

I used to know a structural engineer who was a nice enough fellow, but he had sort of a bias against architects: he was convinced that none of them understood just HOW structures stood up. He often said they relied on “sky hooks” to hold up their designs. Of course, “sky hooks” aren’t even a real thing…

…or are they? Because this looks exactly like a hook, hanging from the sky. And that makes it a sky hook, right?

Cross Walk

I live in a city that does not currently have what one might describe as a vibrant downtown, so when I visit what I call an “actual city” I get to bust out with some street photography.  I felt very urbanized when I made this shot.

Her face

That kid is making the universal “I didn’t know the water would be THAT cold” face as she runs through the fountains at the Wynkoop Plaza Fountain in downtown Denver.
