something doesn’t seem right

Good gracious! Something seems amiss here.

But the worst thing (possibly) is that no one seemed to notice; they were just going about their day not even caring that there was an armless man piloting the boat through thin air while also blowing a sizeable amount of smoke out of his mouth.

there’s always a water bottle

Fun fact: almost every abandoned building will have at least one water bottle gathering dust along with the other discarded parts of someone’s life.

through longing and through pain

This is a shock, right? Can you even believe that I’ve made such a swing from abandoned monochrome downtowns, to this?

What happened was I took a class on macros and close-ups, and we had homework. At the same time (but unrelated, probably), I sort of re-injured my surgery foot and had to be non-weight bearing for a few days. That meant that a trip to New Mexico had to be cancelled and my plans to do my homework in adobe churches or whatever fell all the way apart.

My dining room table turned into a studio and I gathered up things I could carry to the “studio”  in one hand while I navigated the knee scooter with the other and they became my subjects.

I’m still not happy about the surgery setback (it’s much better now) or the cancelled trip (I’m still sort of stabby about that) but those things conspired to lead to me shoot something I’d never even given the slightest consideration for a photograph.

all in all it’s just another brick

I know: it’s vandalism. And I’m supposed to not be in favor of it.

But damn…those colors…those lines…that shading.

as wine, the strongest heads

There are two hats hanging on a hook in the garage. To be honest, I am afraid of wearing either one of them: I think there are spiders or maybe these weird almost-clear geckos in them. And who even knows what else might be in there that I would prefer not to have on my head.

But I didn’t encounter anything dangerous when I made this photo.
