Native grasses, on a windy day
Out here where I live, the wind blows a lot. Like, all the time nearly. That’s why I am not sure why I thought that I could get a nice, crisp photo of these fall grasses: the wind was blowing and I know better. But still, I tried. And rather liked the result.
Or, maybe I eventually talked myself into liking what I ended up with since I couldn’t get anything any better…

While I waited for lunch
I am not a patient person.
Taking up photography has helped me a lot, though, because even ridiculously long waits for a server to arrive to take a lunch order (to cite a recent example) can turn into a photograph. And I’m much less likely to get fidgety. And/or pissy.

The more formal approach
While I am drawn to things that are falling apart or are otherwise not symmetrical, sometimes a formal arrangement does catch my attention. That’s what happened here, with the steps and the brick and the pattern on the doors and the shadows, all lining themselves up perfectly.
