While I waited for lunch

I am not a patient person.

Taking up photography has helped me a lot, though, because even ridiculously long waits for a server to arrive to take a lunch order (to cite a recent example) can turn into a photograph. And I’m much less likely to get fidgety. And/or pissy.

The more formal approach

While I am drawn to things that are falling apart or are otherwise not symmetrical, sometimes a formal arrangement does catch my attention. That’s what happened here, with the steps and the brick and the pattern on the doors and the shadows, all lining themselves up perfectly.

You can’t trust reflections

Sometimes a technically bad image turns out not so bad, after all.

Like this one, which I liked so much when I saw it on the back screen of my camera that I didn’t even try to get a “good” shot. (Also, since I was taking pictures in a restroom, I was hurrying in order to not get caught…)
