wilkerson’s place is melting

The New Mexico sun is hot enough and bright enough – or so it seems – to melt building materials. But really, it’s the infrequent rains that are dissolving the adobe walls of Wilkerson’s place.

window-washing day had not yet arrived

I thought what I wanted was for the curtains to be in focus.

The camera thought what it wanted was for the paint drips and dirt on the window to be in focus.

Turns out the camera was right. Sometimes that happens.
