christmas
In case you don’t know this: in New Mexican restaurants, you’ll get the choice to have your food topped with either red or green chile. And if you’re bold enough to want both, it’s called “Christmas.” And that’s what I was thinking about when I spotted this scene and made this photo. (On a side note: if you want to use the west-facing aluminum window frame to brace your arm while you make some images, you may need to seek medical treatment for burns to your skin. FYI.)

so. much. knotty. pine.
The day it was 109° at home was – by a very odd coincidence – the day I decided that a weekend in the mountains was the thing that needed to happen.
The cabin had just the right amount of knotty pine paneling to make it feel like we were inside a tree. And the elevation – almost 8,700 feet – meant that it was nice and cool.
