cinderella

I was at least 100% certain I’d never been in Hagerman before. I would have argued with anyone who tried to convince me otherwise. However, if the files on my computer are to be believed, I was there on May 10, 2014.

On that forgotten visit, I failed to photograph the Cinderella shoe left behind in a storefront display, but I got it this time around.

My eyes are adjusting themselves to seeing color in potential photographs. Especially yellow. My eyes like yellow.

bar

I guess there *is* such a thing as “too early to drink”? But an open door into an empty bar did provide a lovely photo opportunity.

slide damage

I have a small body of work that includes playground equipment. Slides are particularly well-represented, for some reason.*

This slide, which looks to have had an encounter with a vehicle, is my current favorite. (And will be, too, until I the next time I see a playground that needs photographing.)

*I like them. That’s the reason.

christmas

In case you don’t know this: in New Mexican restaurants, you’ll get the choice to have your food topped with either red or green chile. And if you’re bold enough to want both, it’s called “Christmas.” And that’s what I was thinking about when I spotted this scene and made this photo. (On a side note: if you want to use the west-facing aluminum window frame to brace your arm while you make some images, you may need to seek medical treatment for burns to your skin. FYI.)
