I do not have any idea – not even a flimsy theory – why a trailer-load of washing machines would be parked in front of a gutted building that was once (apparently) a flower shop. Your guess is as good as mine.

Another kind of border wall

The river, of course, is the international border between the United States and Mexico. The cliffs are in Mexico and those grasses are in the United States.

In the foreground, the Rio Grande. And over there, past the water and those trees are cliffs. International cliffs, really, since they are in Mexico.

Jesús Vega, redone

Sometimes amazing, unbelievable things happen.

In early 2013, I visited the cemetery in Terlingua and made this image of the grave marker for Jesús Vega:

Years passed (eight of them) and I was once again in the Terlingua cemetery. I’d made my way all the way around, almost, when I saw something that was nearly unbelievable:

The Church Chairs

These may be my two favorite chairs, from a photographic standpoint. They were placed just like this at the back the church, as though they knew I’d be along and need a photo of them.
