Isaack

I had dinner in this place last month. The server was surly and the food was (at best) marginal. But neither of those things mattered because of this wonderful sign. And the fact that even though it was dark outside and sign was not lighted made it even more perfect.

Another failed dream

You know that if there’s a vacant building that’s got a window I can look through, I will do just that. And, further, you know I’ll make a photo while I’m there.

And, so, here I go again.

thoughts become

And, apparently, in this case, thoughts became things and those things were shipping containers next to the highway.

You are probably going to be relieved to know that this will be the last of the billboard photos from the afternoon of billboard photography. We’ve all survived it.

moviesmoviesmovies

Yes, I know the sign promises moviesmoviesmovies, but trust me: if that’s what you go out there to find, you will have not only wasted a trip but you’ll leave movie-less. I am sorry to be the bearer of such sad news, but I sure don’t to be the cause of anyone’s great disappointment.

and stop

Another fine find from my day of billboard photography. As you can probably figure out by the condition of the sign, the liquor store that wants you to stop is long gone, leaving us forever unable to save on all our favorite beverages.

This stop yielded two bonuses. One was that beer bottle stuck in the dirt below the sign. And the other was the approximately 100 million grass burrs that attached themselves to my pants legs and shoes and shoelaces. I appreciated one of the bonuses more than the other…
