Last year when my good friends from New England made their inaugural visit to West Texas, I decided that one of the things we had to do was to stop at the Big Texan Steak Ranch. Then I doubled down on that plan and we also spent the night next door at the Big Texan Motel. Both places were equally kitschy, which was of course the point of our visiting them.

Yep – another drizzly night in Scotland. According to my personal observation, almost ALL nights are drizzly, but to be fair, I was only there for a couple of weeks.

Blue hour, obviously. And I loved the way the sign gave off a warm glow, which was echoed by the light on the second floor of the building.

fountain cleaner
This guy had what looked like an endless task: he was scooping fall leaves out of the fountain. He was doing a good job and all, but it must have been a little disheartening when he stood up and stretched out his back and then saw how many more leaves were still on the trees.
