Pro tip: if you are in Central Texas in the summer and it’s like hundreds of degrees outside and you think the heat’s going to literally melt you, go to the museum. The folks running the place will be happy to see you (and will tell you as many stories about the stuff as you’ll want to hear), the air conditioning’s nice, and there are things to photograph.

amber

I was several rows away from this one-armed figure when I spotted her ephemeral amber-colored glow.

After I’d made several photos and walked a few feet to my right, I noticed her missing arm in the grass. I’m not sure of the protocol around angel arms, but I went ahead and moved it closer to her. In case she needed it.
