“but the Light comes pounding through”
I think this is my favorite photo I made inside the church – I’m always a fan of stained glass and how it manipulates the light passing through it.
And you know how sometimes things I see remind me of (usually random) song lyrics? This time it was the line “and the Light comes bounding through” from Bruce Cockburn’s song “Celestial Horses.” Give it a listen. If you want.

Feet and Faith
I grew up going to church every Sunday at a Methodist church. I had no idea about how visceral other churches could be.

No Cooks
Since 1855, the church has held the Feast of the Assumption each year on August 15. On the day I was there, it was hard to imagine what that must look like, with thousands of people showing up for the festivities.
