PhotoPlace Gallery – Man in the Landscape

081415

I got word yesterday that this image, “The Cost of Doing Business” was accepted into the online gallery for PhotoPlace Gallery’s show “Man in the Landscape.” I like getting good news at the end of the week. Or at any time, really. You can see the entire set of images here.

Howard

Howard’s place isn’t looking so great.

But what this image made me start thinking about is how, when that metal building across the street from Howard’s starts to fall down, it won’t look nearly as interesting as this.

Toward the end, things were falling apart

This place is falling down, from the ground up.

And, to be honest, it’s also falling down from the roof down.

The rectangles and I are very happy together

071316

Well, that is we were very happy together. Then I went away to take a photography class and we – the rectangles and I – broke up. Things just weren’t working out between us, and it seemed like the right thing to do. We may get back together, sometime. But for now, we need some time apart.

So, when you come back tomorrow, there’s a chance you may notice a slight variation on the sorts of images you may have come to expect to see here.

Employee Break Room

070216

A loading dock inside a parking garage doesn’t look like the most relaxing spot for an employee break room, does it?

Aside from the usual things that I liked here – the grittiness, the bounced light, and etc. – the other thing I really was happy to see was that outdated Holiday Inn sign. I like it much better than the new H logo.

I’m away…but of course I’d love to hear from you. I promise I’ll reply as soon as I can.
