That’s why I felt like I was being watched

I was in Brownfield, Texas, on a Sunday morning, doing my thing – checking out stuff downtown. I found the vacant movie theater, and shot a photo through a broken window to get the interior. Then I turned around, and let my gaze track across the marquee that jutted over the sidewalk. Two-thirds of the way across it, I saw this cat, just chilling in the joists. I was a lot less chill when I spotted her, but after I got over the initial surprise, I laughed. Then I made a photo.

At least it wasn’t a crazed killer lurking up there…

…and never the twain

The fun thing about big event centers is that sometimes scheduled events may not always exactly align. A fancy fundraising event was scheduled just across a walkway from the tattoo expo, and I guess these drapes and fence were supposed to prevent any overlap.

But I think we all know that there was some degree of crossover between the two activities.

A wide range of options

Last August, I got a tattoo on my leg, to cover up the scar from knee-replacement surgery. I hated the scar, which made me feel really old since knee-replacement is sort of an old-person’s thing. I am aware that the tattoo is far more visible than the scar, and that my logic could be considered a bit flawed. But it makes me feel better about the whole situation.

And it gave me the cred I needed to head over to the local tattoo expo the other day.

I can’t explain my recent need to photograph people, though.

Please do not disrespect

Have you noticed what’s been going on here on the blog? How more and more often people are showing up in the images?

I can’t explain it. And I’m sorry if it’s leaving you confused. It’s leaving me a bit discombobulated, too.
