My granddaughter, the fabulous Miss Hannah Harvey, turns 13 years old today. Yay!
A few weeks ago, she and I took ourselves on a Big Adventure, which included a stop at a coffee shop; a drive to Abernathy, Texas, to make some photos*; and a picnic lunch of fried rice. It was an excellent day. Among the many interesting things we spotted in Abernathy was this row of theater seats on a sidewalk. Hannah spotted the 13 right away, of course. (And don’t tell her, but part of her birthday present is a print of this photo.)

Miss Hannah Harvey and her dad learn about mummies
Miss Hannah Harvey has an active and inquisitive mind – in addition to her interest in fashion design, she’s got a deep knowledge of Egyptian mythology (that she learned on her own) so of course this exhibit of mummies was fascinating. She and her dad enjoyed their time together, too – with their respective travel schedules (her – summer camp; him – Dubai), they’d been apart for a couple of weeks immediately prior to this Chicago excursion. It was easy to see that they’d missed each other!
