harry’s boot

This is what you can see at the corner of West Wallace and South High Streets, in the center of downtown San Saba. In case you’d been lying awake at night wondering.

nine lots for sale

It was really hot the day I was in Lampasas, but the local museum was not only open but nicely air-conditioned. After I spent some time inside looking around, I went back out and walked down an alley, because of course alleys often have things in them that need to be photographed.

And that’s how I found this.

Now, I’m not a marketing person, but it does seem like in a shed off an alley may not be the best location to advertise those nine lots….

a shadow of itself

Out at my place on the rim of a canyon*, it’s usually too windy to catch a photo like this – generally these thin stalks of grass are whipping around at blur-inducing rate.

But the there was this one day in December when it was sunny and warm and calm. So I made this image.

*I mean, it’s not the Grand Canyon, but nevertheless, it is still a canyon.

the mysteries of reflection

You don’t have to wait long for me to post a photo of a window reflection.

I am endlessly fascinated by the way they distort what’s there, making reality a bit skewed.

carts

From the looks of things, the Abell-Prewitt Implement Company has gone out of business, leaving behind an array of merchandise. And two very dusty shopping carts.

I don’t know where residents of Ralls currently go to obtain their implements…

Also: what are residents of Ralls called? Ralls-ites? Rallsians? Rallers?
