pride

There is no way to stretch one’s imagination to make Lubbock seem progressive. Not even close. Honestly, the place gets on my nerves a lot.

But I was proud to go to Pride and see how many people were there. It did my soul good to see people being themselves, openly and without apology. Because, seriously, why should anyone have to live with apologies for being who they are?

tulle + stilts

If you’ve ever seen me walk, you know that I not generally all that graceful or coordinated. I would have benefitted from having gone to dance lessons as a kid. Probably.

So it was with great awe that I saw a person on stilts, walking on a brick street right in front of a moving vehicle. And while all that was going on, she was smiling and waving to the crowd.

This dancer was popular with the crowd, who cheered them on during the performance.

Also: those tattoos! And that beard!

How much fun were these dancers having?

They were having all the fun possible to have.

Maybe you’re wondering if I am *still* showing Pride photos.

Yes. Yes, I am.

And there are still more on the way.
