“daddy” seems ominous in this context

WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?

Are you as creeped out as I am by seeing “Daddy” painted over there on that wall?

444

According to the internet, the number 444 is an “angel number”; it’s thought to be a message from angels that you are on the right path and that they are supporting you.

The internet also says 444 can be indicative of bringing order to chaos, which obviously has not happened here. So far.

labyrinthine

It is easy to get out of your vehicle and wander around these rocks and imagine that you’ve found yourself in a not-yet-discovered place and that maybe you are the only person there…and you can sort of feel yourself unwinding.

Until that car full of loud and rude (to be redundant, possibly) people shows up and parks right up next to the rocks, fucking up your mood as well as your view.

But I am not at all bitter about that. Nope. Not even a little bit.

well.

Well.

This is the only place I’ve seen a community well building. I mean it’s the only place I’ve seen one that SAYS so.

(Villanueva is not really on the way to anywhere, if you’re normal and take regular routes. It was a nice surprise – it felt like we’d found ourselves in another time and place. But it was a place where there were wells.)

what was, what is, and what shall be

I like the three generations of this particular flower – known in some parts of the country as jimson weed –  and that’s why I took the photo.

And because (in spite of the way it often looks) I did some research for this post and found out more. This plant’s got a lot of interesting attributes:

  1. It’s poisonous
  2. It is an aggressive, invasive weed in many parts of the world
  3. It’s been used as an hallucinogen
  4. And it can be used to create intense, sacred, or occult visions

And if THAT’S not enough, my pal Wikipedia says “it is unlikely ever to become a major drug of abuse owing to effects upon both mind and body frequently perceived as being highly unpleasant, giving rise to a state of profound and long-lasting disorientation or delirium with a potentially fatal outcome.”

So, anyway, I guess I’ll stick to just taking photos.
