To be clear, even though English was spoken I did not eat at the Subway sandwich shop while I was in Paris. Also, I did not go to the Chicken Spot there on the other side of the street.

Yes, it was a proud tradition. A proud tradition of…something. But, to be honest, I probably wouldn’t have known that without the helpful sign.
