Hard Times

051716

I think we can all think of an Internet-based reason why a roadside adult video store may have fallen on hard times.

This place is on my regular route to work and over the past few weeks I’ve been watching the sign’s decline. The panel that says “video” is barely hanging on, the whole thing rotates around when the wind’s just right, and one of these days (tomorrow, maybe) the whole thing will fall apart.

Not Canada

Getting a little bit of a mixed message here, with the Spanish name and the Canadian flag and the Vietnamese restaurant and the actual location in Arizona. Sometimes things are more confusing than they need to be.

These are not exits

Really. They’re just not. Don’t even think you can get out through those doors.

How to Leave

I love some nice signage.

This is straightforward, and graceful with the way the bold strokes of the letters are enhanced by the narrow lines behind them. And also – the meaning is clear, and nothing is misspelled.

Hearts go Right

I did make the right turn the sign indicated, but never saw anything that it might have been pointing toward.

But it’s still a lovely heart.
