gas/poison

It’s scenic out here, only maybe not in a traditional way. Oh, and also? Watch for poison gas, and poisonous snakes, too.

Cross (with hat and mask)

This is the same location I’d photographed in 2015, but nothing looked the same. I think this indicates even more fatalities at this particular intersection, but it might also mean that grieving families are still visiting and adding to their loved one’s memorial.

Portals

I have only recently noticed a repository of dead cars (mostly VWs) on the highway near my house. There is very strong evidence to suggest that it’s been there for a while – a long while – so I am not sure what it took until lately for me to see it.

But the camera and I got there as fast as we could, and we found these portals.

One of the most beneficial things about my everyday camera/lens combination is that the lens is small enough to fit right into the diamond shapes of a chain-link fence.

Windowsill Car

The randomness of things will (I hope) always amaze me. I was out on the fringes of town the other day and spotted a mobile home that was less mobile and less home with every passing minute. Some of the windows were gone, others were boarded up with now-weathered plywood. The front steps were about half missing. A tree was asserting its dominance by growing very close to the wall. The front door was gone. There was a toilet fixture in the living room.

And this: a toy car parked right there on the windowsill.
