Clouds overhead were ghostly gray
It’s unusual to see cloudy skies out here. These kinds of clouds, anyway – low gray ones that hang around all day. In the summer, it’s not uncommon to have thunderclouds build up and quickly dissipate.
But how about the way the lighter shapes in the clouds echo the shape of the shrubbery by the stairs?

It didn’t look that lucky
Some sort of a gameroom, holding down a corner. Evidently, they no longer provide a sweepstakes, as that’s been (sort of) edited out.
Actually, they no longer provide anything: it’s out of business. A man from the house next door came over to see if I was interested in purchasing the building. He looked very confused when I said that I just wanted to photograph the place. I get that a lot.
