night moves

My hotel view in Denver included this nice angle on the Denver Performing Arts Complex’s roof.

Historical Note: two nights before I made this shot, Lauren Bobert was escorted from one of the theaters in this complex during a performance of Beetlejuice. And the thing is that I actually looked for tickets to see Beetlejuice at that theater but there were two of us and only single seats available. If I’d had the seats instead of Bobert and her handsy date, I would have behaved (because I know how to act in public) and been able to stay for the entire show.

The weather was about to turn cool and rainy. But until it did, kids were busy playing in the fountains outside Union Station.

tubes

I stopped to photograph an abandoned farmhouse and then became distracted by the bright white irrigation pipes stacked up behind the place. (The crop behind the pipes? It’s cotton and the bolls were already set on the plants and couple of them had opened, revealing cotton as white as the pipes.)

boot heel

The grave marker way down at the end of the cemetery had a thick square wooden post and several cowboy boots hanging from it. This boot, which was in full sun every single afternoon that wasn’t cloudy, was much the worse for that level of sun exposure. I don’t guess I understood how many nails there are in a boot until I saw this one.

yellow (dead and alive)

If I knew anything about what sort of flowers these are, I would definitely tell you. All I can say with any level of confidence, however, is that they are yellow. And here’s a color photo to prove that my botanical assessment is on point.
