The county community center has a couple of options – you can cook a meal on the grill and you can play basketball! (If you opt for basketball, though, you’ll need to be careful to not trip over the broken concrete.) And, also, if it’s a hot day, you can go inside and enjoy that window-mounted air conditioner.

Really, this place just has everything.

Terry County Gap

Out on the edge of town, between the competing cemeteries, I found some buildings that were in the process of dismantling themselves. It almost felt like if I gave that utility pole a nudge it would tip over and bring the buildings with it.

Gloria Bautista

The map indicated a church out on this particular country road, and this is what I found.

The wooden letters over the front door are nearly gone; all I can make out is the top line – Gloria Bautista. The bottom line, though, is anyone’s guess.
