sunbleached

This was one of those photos that I sort of thought I noticed when I walked by but it didn’t quite register in my brain. But then that little voice – the one that’s way smarter than I am – said, “Seriously? You’re just going to keep walking? Are you even for real?”*

So I turned around and made a photo.

*That voice is a total wise-ass.

A room at the golf course’s clubhouse caught my attention.

But, honestly, the thing that really caught my eye was the sign on the door next to this room. It said “Ladie’s Locker” and the whole thing is too depressing to post, so you’ve got this instead.

cart park

We made a family excursion out to the driving range the other day. Some of us hit golf balls and others of us played around with the settings on her new camera.

the family athlete

This is Bennett. She plays all the sports. For a while her goal was to run a marathon; that lasted until she heard about ultra marathons and she upgraded the goal.

In the meantime, she plays golf and soccer and basketball and volleyball. She doesn’t walk if she can run. Her career ambition is to be an astronaut and her auxiliary career plan is to be a professional soccer player.

soap (small batch)

So, the thing is that now that I’m back from my weekend in San Saba and writing posts, I realize that I ought to have made time to go inside the San Saba Soap Company, instead of just photographing it in the early light. They have a whole line of soap and skin care products made from pecan oil – that would have been something I’d’ve paid for. I guess I’ll just have to go back. Check out their website and then start planning your own trip.
