one of us was confused

“So, I was drivin’ up through that Big Texan place and I swear there was a gal practically LAYING DOWN in a puddle. And she was holdin’ a camera, too. It’s the gol-darn truth. Mebbe she had one a them sunstrokes or sumpthin.” -this guy to his buddies

like ghosts, they’re gone

The last time I’d been here, the door was still attached to the building.

But now! Now, it’s on the ground with the glass intact, which gave me a nice reflection of the building.

(Just one more reason to revisit the same location.)

ice + snow

Maybe you remember yesterday’s post, where I mentioned shooting some concept photos to illustrate the theme “cold” because it wasn’t actually cold here during the time I needed to shoot the images for the assignment.

One of the themes I attempted was shooting images of ice machines.  And I have to say that getting an ice machine photo that included snowflakes was a lot stronger way to illustrate the theme than the crap I’d been working on. FYI.

the accidental selfie

I was too busy making this photo (and dealing with that bright, glaring light) that I didn’t even notice that I was in the shot. It’s obvious that I would have been, but in the heat of the moment, I failed to see myself.

But anyway, at least now you’ll recognize me.

eventually the dream fades

Anther downtown shop window – this one is filled up with two giant dresses, hand lettered signs, and reflections. But the best part is the way the sign and dress on the left are fading into the reflected background, like so many dreams involving giant dresses tend to do.

(And, also, like so many dreams in general did for this entire damn year. It’s another metaphor!)
