Street-Stove
Because I am out of commission for a while (I got a new knee the other day), I spent a couple of month’s of weekends photographing like a crazy person – I wanted to have enough images to stock the blog during recuperation. I felt like I owed that to my reader(s).
So, on one of those drive-abouts, I went to Earth. The town of Earth, I mean. And while I was there, I spotted the elusive street-stove!

it depends on the way that you see
This cemetery had one of the few expressly-designated paupers areas that I have ever seen. Most of the markers in that part of the cemetery were non-existent and the simple concrete markers on the rest of them had eroded to the point where the graves were mostly just marked by pieces of rebar.

Bandstand (with puddle)
One of the good things that came out of months and months from working from home was the chance to establish work hours that were very flexible…which in turn let me set aside time for a lot of photography webinars.
I even watched some on street photography; the best one of these was taught by Pulitzer-prize winning photographer Essdras Suarez. One of the things he talked about was looking for (and then using) puddles to put reflections into images. You’ll notice that even though I took a class from a master of street photography, I still didn’t include people in the shot.
Baby steps, y’all. Baby steps.

Post Office (flyover country)
If you take one route to get somewhere, you are morally bound to find another way back. (I suspect that not all of y’all abide by this as strictly as you should, but who I am to judge?)
Anyway, my route home from Tucumcari the other day landed by here, in Bellview. (FYI: I never did find the bells.)
