christmas (lights) in july
First of all, if you see cloth-covered electrical wires on home decor, it’s probably because it’s a real design-y lamp. If you see cloth-covered electrical wires on an abandoned building, it probably because at the place is old AF and was/is a fire hazard.
But at least the switch was off.
Secondly, how about those Christmas lights, which look for all the world like someone painted them?

at a cross road
When I come home with new photos to edit, one of my regular tools – in addition to Lightroom and Photoshop – is Google street view. I can get the exact street name, for example, or what a particular business is called instead of whatever name my name gave it (“junky hair salon” is very rarely the actual business name, for example). But anyway, that’s how I know for sure that the cross painted on this utility box has been there since at least May 2023.

life moves quickly (except for the slow parts)
Although it doesn’t sound correct, this is in fact my wedding dress. A blurry, purple-ish version of it, anyway. I was working on an assignment for an online photography class and while this didn’t even come close to what I was supposed to be working on, I still liked it.
(My mom made my dress, from Vogue pattern number 1363. It has about 54 miles* of lace hand-stitched onto the chiffon skirt. She would be very disappointed to see this photo, which blurred all her hard work.)
*According to the information on the back of the pattern, the dress required 11 yards ( ! ) of lace, which doesn’t even sound plausible. Maybe I need to take an Actual Photo of the dress instead of this one…
PS: Here’s the pattern. Please note that my dress had neither the cape attachment nor the headscarf atrocity.
