cruising (with Abe)

Here in Pontiac, corners downtown were decorated with these little art cars. I loved this one, with Abe and his luxurious wind-blown hair taking a ride. He seemed so jaunty and carefree. I sort of wish I had this in the sculpture gallery at my house.

I mean, I don’t actually have a sculpture galley at my house, but if I did, this piece would be placed in the prime location.

if the shoe fits

If you want to make your brain work hard, try to convince it that the shoe is a normal, human-foot size and everything else is really quite small. And who’s to say that’s the real situation here?

That afternoon light did me a huge favor, spotlighting the bridge tower like that. And then a boat went by! It was practically an embarrassment of photographic riches, and that’s even without the iconic Chicago Tribune sign over there on the right side….

Crown Fountain: 9:00 pm

A completely unplanned nighttime walk around my little part of Chicago led me to a free concert at the Pritzker Pavilion, some attempts at low-light street photography around Cloud Gate, and this set of silhouettes against Crown Fountain. It was my last night in the city and I think it provided me with a lovely parting gift.
