death comes
I really like to photograph cemeteries and on a recent trip to New Mexico, they were really calling to me. Calling to me photographically, I mean, not in a “why don’t you come join us?” way.
The textures, the symbols, the stories that remain mysterious to me, the cultural and geographical differences all draw me in. And once I’m drawn in, you know for sure I’ll make photos.

rain on a red truck
I mean, it’s a red fire truck (instead of a wheelbarrow) and there aren’t any white chickens.
But still, it reminds me of a poem.

three window units
I couldn’t tell by utilizing context clues if this hotel was still operational. Google Maps thinks it is, but then again, Google Maps wasn’t there…
But anyway, if the place IS open and you decide to spend your summer vacation here in Roaring Springs, go ahead and get a room with a window air-conditioning unit. It’ll be worth it.
