Sky Hook

I used to know a structural engineer who was a nice enough fellow, but he had sort of a bias against architects: he was convinced that none of them understood just HOW structures stood up. He often said they relied on “sky hooks” to hold up their designs. Of course, “sky hooks” aren’t even a real thing…

…or are they? Because this looks exactly like a hook, hanging from the sky. And that makes it a sky hook, right?

Cross Walk

I live in a city that does not currently have what one might describe as a vibrant downtown, so when I visit what I call an “actual city” I get to bust out with some street photography.  I felt very urbanized when I made this shot.

The end of Sears: shoes

Sears was nearly gone for good and not much merchandise was left over. But, somehow, even at 80% off these shoes hadn’t sold. A retail mystery, I suppose.
