Building security was not a priority

In spite of everything, they maintained an open-door policy

Our weekend place.

Sort of. It’s a place we call The Hut that came with a place we’ve got in the country. It’s not in good repair, as you can easily see, and one of these days it’ll fall all the way down. Fall Foliage (High Plains Version)

Well, I realize we’re not likely to ever be overrun by busloads of tourists seeking a glimpse at our fall foliage.

A light rain earlier in the day brought out the muted colors in the dying grasses.
